The west bank of the Onga River flowing through the center of Nakama City contains many natural features. Here you can stroll through areas closely associated with Tsukigata Kiyoshi who is known as the pioneering forefather of Hokkaido. You will enjoy the picturesque landscape of the rice fields which changes with the seasons. And, if you look around you will discover unique scenery that would be difficult to spot ordinarily. |

Walk through the rice fields along a road surrounded by nature. On a clear day, you will enjoy a comfortable breeze as you stroll along gazing at the beautiful blue sky above.
This is the temple of the Hongwanji-ha Buddhist organization of the Jōdo Shinshū (offshoot of the Jōdo sect) known as the True Pure Land School. On days with events, the temple will extend special hospitality and you can also use their restrooms. You may even find yourself engaged in an interesting conversation with the head priest, and stay longer than expected.

There are walls and fences creating the appearance of Sokoino as it was long ago. You will feel as if you have travelled back in time as you walk through the area.

This is a course composed by the students at the Fukuoka Prefectural Nakama High School. It is a course with a lot of hills, but also with many picturesque spots.
