The west bank of the Onga River flowing through the center of Nakama-shi contains many natural features and cultural properties. Abundant with greenery, the Habu Park is well known for its cherry trees and hydrangea, while the Tsukise Hachimangu Shrine is famous for the Japanese lily blooming in July. Be sure to view the old bricks and the rows of houses reminiscent of ancient times, as well as the farm crops growing in the countryside which change from season to season. There is also a spot to view the Onga River Source Pump House, listed as a World Heritage Site, beyond the Onga River. |

This is where the local folks gather. The toilets here are used during events.
A village shrine in the Shimo-Okuma district. The name means “15 Shrines,” referring to the fact it enshrines 15 gods. Beyond the Onga River, the World Heritage Site “Onga River Source Pump House” can be seen.
You can walk beneath the tracks, alongside guardrails which sport a unique shade of green.

In May, you can see the golden wheat field.
It was first started by Lord Tadayuki Kuroda in order to share the deity of Usa Jingu Shrine here. It was originally called “Neko Castle Hachiman Shrine,” but it was changed to its current name in honor of the “Tsukise River” which flows through the Usa Jingu Shrine precincts. Pretty Japanese lilies blooming in July. The toilets here are used during events.
At the Onga River Source Pump House Information Center, there are exhibits about the “Onga River Pumping Station”

The course includes the Umeyasu Tenmangu Shrine and Soshagu Shrine where Sugawara-no-Michizane is said to have visited.
This is a course composed by the students at the Fukuoka Prefectural Nakama High School. It is a course with a lot of hills, but also with many picturesque spots.
