Kamisokoino Course walk The west side Onga River.
Course over the many remaining areas of natural
and cultural assets

Kamisokoino Dotenouchi Machinaka Nakasokoino

The west bank of the Onga River flowing through the center of Nakama-shi contains many natural features and cultural properties. Abundant with greenery, the Habu Park is well known for its cherry trees and hydrangea, while the Tsukise Hachimangu Shrine is famous for the Japanese lily blooming in July. Prince Suguwarano Michizane and Kuroda feudal lords visited Sokoino with its beautiful scenery featuring numerous hills to recuperate from their travels. Be sure to view the old bricks and the rows of houses reminiscent of ancient times, as well as the farm crops growing in the countryside which change from season to season. There is also a spot to view the Onga River Source Pump House, listed as a World Heritage Site, beyond the Onga River.

It was first started by Lord Tadayuki Kuroda in order to share the deity of Usa Jingu Shrine here.
